Research aims

The ‘Everyday Bordering in the UK’ project is collaborative. Collaborative researchers recognise people as experts in their own lives. This therefore means that the research team are working with organisations that provide social care to people and families that have migrated to the UK.

By working with migrant families and social care workers in these organisations, the project aims to:

Find out if everyday borders exist in social care in the north of England.

Describe how everyday borders are created in social care.

Explore how migrant families experience these everyday borders.

Understand how social care workers manage these borders.
